Brad Dean
As President and Chief Executive Officer of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, Brad Deanâs current focus is the development of Interstate 73. Currently located entirely within North Carolina, Brad Dean is lobbying to make the highway a part of a longer planned corridor running from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to Grayling, Michigan. Currently, the section of the route through West Virginia is under study.
Brad Dean has been devoted to the development of business opportunities in Myrtle Beach for over a decade. Previously the Chief Financial Officer of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, Brad Dean has held the presidency of the organization since 2003. Prior to this, Brad Dean worked for the Hard Rock Café, earning a promotion from Financial Analyst to General Manager of the companyâs Myrtle Beach restaurant and retail operation. With no former restaurant management experience, Brad Dean successfully ran the $20-million outlet for more than three years. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Brad Deanâs name was inscribed on the schoolâs Bronze Tablet in recognition of his consistent academic achievement. Students honored on the Bronze Tablet must rank in the top three percent of their graduating class.
Married with two children, Brad Dean attends the Surfside United Methodist Church and contributes to the Chicora Rotary, American Heart Association, United Way of Horry County, and Careteam, a local non-profit agency serving those affected by HIV and AIDS in Horry, Georgetown, and Williamsburg counties.
